YPs join the World Bank Group on an initial two-year term contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. During their first two years, they have the unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge and experience through rotational assignments across the World Bank Group.
Additionally, YPs take part in a structured learning and talent development journey through their YP Academy. Key elements include technical and operations training, language programs, negotiation and business skills, and leadership development. YPs also receive one-on-one coaching, connect with mentors, and engage in strategy-focused dialogues with senior leaders.
The Digital Vice Presidency aims to build digital economies by enhancing infrastructure, cybersecurity, data privacy, and digital government services.
Your work program
• Operational Engagements: Design and supervise digital lending operations, advise on digital economy strategies, and support technical documentation.
• Research & Analytics: Lead economic and landscape analyses, generate think pieces, and conduct original research.
• Knowledge Sharing: Build partnerships, disseminate case studies and toolkits, and promote regional collaboration.
• Inter-sectoral Collaboration: Integrate digital solutions across sectors like health, education, agriculture, and finance.
• Conduct diagnostics on digital infrastructure, platform markets, and innovation systems.
• Analyze digital economy contributions to GDP, trade, productivity, and employment.
• Guide policy for e-commerce, SME growth, and emerging technologies.
• Support integration of digital analysis into country-level frameworks and reports.
• Digital Society Role Focuses on transforming public service delivery using platforms, AI, and mobile-first solutions.
• Contribute to diagnostics, technical inputs, and knowledge products.
• Engage with governments, tech firms, and development partners to support implementation.
What you will bring
• Master’s degree in relevant fields (e.g., economics, public policy, digital innovation, digital computer science, information systems
• 2-6 years of experience in digital transformation, policy design, and economic analysis.
• Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Familiarity with digital platforms, AI, and service delivery, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
