YPs join the World Bank Group on an initial two-year term contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. During their first two years, they have the unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge and experience through rotational assignments across the World Bank Group.

Additionally, YPs take part in a structured learning and talent development journey through their YP Academy. Key elements include technical and operations training, language programs, negotiation and business skills, and leadership development. YPs also receive one-on-one coaching, connect with mentors, and engage in strategy-focused dialogues with senior leaders.

What you will bring

• Completion of a masters-level degree in a relevant field, or a higher qualification before September 1, 2026
• 2-6 years experience following undergraduate studies 
• Demonstrated technical depth, technical breadth, expertise and experience in most of the following areas:
• Strong background in IT program or portfolio management within complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable data pipelines and deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML)/Large Language Model (LLM) services within cloud environments, ensuring governance and compliance
• Proven experience implementing full Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) lifecycles, including automated testing, telemetry integration, and rollback strategies
• Applied knowledge of Responsible AI principles, with a focus on content safety and audit-readiness
• Track record of partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful AI solutions and drive adoption across diverse stakeholder groups
• Experience creating reusable tools, accelerators, or playbooks to standardize and streamline AI delivery processes
• Ability to translate complex data sets into actionable insights and develop executive-level presentations that inform strategic decisions
• Skilled in Agile or Lean Portfolio Management practices, with familiarity in frameworks such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS)
• Experience in IT investment planning, governance, and performance management aligned with organizational goals
• Proficiency in using portfolio management tools (e.g., Clarity Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), Planview) to support decision-making and transparency
• Knowledge of IT governance frameworks such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT), applied in operational or strategic contexts
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in technology delivery and governance
• Leadership potential, including accountability and results orientation, ability to influence and inspire results, and manage self, projects, people and results
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills: quantitative, qualitative, analytical, strategic; and sound business judgment
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Flexibility and adaptability to working in complex multi-stakeholder and multi-cultural contexts
• Excellent command of spoken and written English language (fluency in other languages might be advantageous to your application)
