The Professional Practices & Innovation (PPI) Team is the engine that helps drive achievement of GIA’s mandate. Our PPI staff is passionate about defining and executing GIA operational initiatives that: drive technology solutions fit for high-performing internal audit functions, implement data analytics (e.g., NLP, ML, RPA) and data visualization at scale; maintain an information technology systems environment consistent with WBG standards, explore emerging technology or continuous process improvements that enhance GIA operations, advise GIA leadership on the information technology, knowledge management, digital transformation (cost/benefit investment decisions and use cases), quality improvement (internal audit and advisory methodologies and tools), and risk methodology frameworks to achieve GIA’s Strategy.
Some specific responsibilities for this role will include:
•Support the PPI Manager to drive results, help resolve bottlenecks, and deliver strategic goals in technology and innovation, staff excellence, internal audit quality assurance, and risk and audit methodology.
•Support overall coordination of a dynamic risk assessment and work program development process methodologies, working closely with GIA management and cluster teams and collaborating with other risk management units; Support the quarterly GIA-wide dynamic risk assessment process.
•Support special projects or initiatives related to PPI.
•Support the execution of GIA’s learning and professional development strategy, along with the supporting staff training curriculum to upskill and future-proof GIA staff.
•Support maintenance and update of knowledge repositories on topics of relevance for GIA through its knowledge hub (GIASpace), enabling alignment with GIA’s strategy, processes and practices, quality assurance requirements and learning strategy.
•Support the implementation of capacity building and training initiatives on relevant internal audit and World Bank Group methodologies, processes and tools, building GIA staff capacity on their application and implementation; support organization and facilitation of knowledge sharing events on new developments and topics of relevance for GIA staff.
•Support the implementation of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program, a continuous business process improvement program and lessons learned process to enhance audit management and risk assessment methodologies that GIA relies on to deliver on its strategic outcomes.
•Execute daily activities including but not limited to the following: provide continuous development and continuous integration of existing SharePoint, Wrike, internet sites and sub sites, lists, libraries, and content (including pages, workflows, and items); Troubleshoot customer issues promptly; Oversee platform maintenance, continuously refine user experience across of communication and knowledge systems or process (SharePoint, MS Teams, Dynamics 365, Power Automate, Azure Data Science Platform, other important assets), and maintenance and revision of audit methodologies and templates.
Selection Criteria
•Minimum 2 years of professional experience and master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in knowledge management, data science, computer science, technology, mathematics, economics, international development, business, journalism, law, or related field of study with a strong critical thinking background.
•Self-motivated and able to take an initiative and run with little to no direct instruction, as well as be a team player with a proven ability to work effectively with colleagues from a range of technical and non-technical roles to collaborate across organizational boundaries.
•Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, to anticipate and adjust to roadblocks, and deliver high quality work with limited supervision.
•Good business sense combined with analytical skills, ability to think strategically; rapidly analyze, interpret and integrate data or new technology into actionable outcomes that communicates clear conclusions and recommendations, e.g., providing intellectual thought leadership, testing assertions, gaining consensus, and driving implementation.
•Talent and technical program management (one or a combination of the following):
-Facilitates and supports (digital) knowledge creation, dissemination, application and retention.
-Participate in technical assessments and reviews to validate the technical approach and associated work products, for knowledge management implications.
•English proficiency, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the capacity to present to translate complex information into actionable intelligence.
•Nice to have:
-Familiarity with WBG operations or similarly complex mission-driven global organizations would be an asset.
-Familiarity with internal audit risk management, and quality assurance and improvement would be an asset.
-Experience with DevOps, UX, Design Thinking, and digital transformation.
-An agile, KM, or technology methodology certification, e.g., Scrum, ITIL, Certified Knowledge Manager/Specialist, or similar credential.
